Workshops
Individual Consultations for:
Adults, Teens, Children and Families
Creative Consultations are a creative way to address life's challenges and grow with them. One on one sessions allow for time to consider one's experience through a variety of lenses while using creative thought processes, intuition, mindfulness practices, sand tray, narrative and art therapies. Creative processes allow for integration of all layers of life experiences, which improves mental and physical health. Depending on the focus of one's work, individuals discover a form of expression that most comfortably fits their needs.
Women's Groups & Retreats
Women coming together to create and share about the here and now of their lives is a powerful and reaffirming experience. These groups offer a safe place to explore aspects of self while listening to the deeper callings within that are often buried in the hubbub of daily life. A wide variety of art media are used including paint, colored pencil, collage, clay, Sculpey, paper mache, photography, mosaic and more. No art experience is required. Groups can be arranged as a two-hour evening event or long-term groups meet monthly for two hours. This workshop can be adapted to a weekend retreat or integrated with a spa retreat.
Creative Birthing
This three-session workshop supports women in their pregnancy and through their birth experience. Participants work with pertinent imagery to their stage with a birth plan and images for a healthy birth as well. Follow-up/post-partum sessions are helpful for processing emotions and integrating the new life force into your heart. Call or email to schedule.
Mother-Daughter Groups
Creative Consulting workshops for mothers and daughters are an excellent opportunity to strengthen bonds while developing boundaries. The mother-daughter relationship is potentially the deepest and most challenging. Using creative processes and sharing verbally, mothers and daughters have the chance to express the wide variety of emotions they experience as they grow up together. Participants create individual and dyadic pieces in response to directives that are designed to enhance relationships while honoring each person’s individual experience. Long-term groups meet monthly for two hours. This workshop can be adapted to a weekend retreat or integrated with a spa retreat.
Creative Parenting Styles
Based on a variety of parenting theories, these on-going workshops include a short discussion about particular ages, stages and challenges, a simple creative process project in response to the discussion followed by sharing. Parents are encouraged to look at the ways they were parented and how these patterns are being repeated in their lives as parents. An environment of non-judgment, safety and personal growth is established from the beginning. The creative process projects often act as transitional objects to take home for the refrigerator to integrate learning objectives and personal growth. No art experience is needed. Groups are six weeks long or can be adapted to a weekend retreat.
Creative Business Consultations
Creative Consulting Work Groups can be arranged as individual or on-going workshops. Retreats for work groups are also available.
Art @ Lunch Series
This workshop offers customized programs using the techniques of art therapy for team building, stress reduction and creativity. Corporate Art Therapy can provide solutions to your organization's training needs with tailor-made sessions and workshops. The Art @ Lunch Introductory Session includes developing a relationship with the creative process using collage and pastels, integrating productivity with imagination, increasing awareness of personal strengths in your work environment and identity of self in the workplace. Monthly sessions and follow-ups are available to enhance group cohesion, communication and productivity. Art processes focus on problem solving, client relations, increasing the teamÕs competitive edge and addressing here and now issues. Series are custom designed to meet specific needs of the company. No art experience is necessary.
Art @ Lunch Series Expanded
The Art @ Lunch Series has been expanded to meet emerging specific needs of current corporate clients. These workshops can be delivered individually or as part of a series. Businesses can customize workshops included to meet their specific needs. All workshops include some creative process work, which integrates the material presented, allowing for tools to remain accessible long after the training. Included in this series are:
Using Creativity to Manage Workplace Stress
Creative thinking teaches individuals to notice triggers, which cause stress before they become embedded in the body. Using mindfulness and breathing techniques, chair yoga, and enhanced personal awareness, individuals develop skills to address normal workday stress as well as conquer the pressure that naturally builds in work communities. Positive aspects of stress are also addressed.
Time Management & Creative Visioning
Making time tangible involves making images of what fills our schedules. Once we concretize our “balls in the air,” we are more capable of juggling them effectively. This process takes back our power and offers us the opportunity to place unnecessary “balls” on the back burner. Using collage and accessing the unconscious allows participants to imagine themselves forward and create paths directly to their next career steps.
The Art of Persuasion: Using the Power of Words & Pictures to Communicate Effectively
Thinking in pictures is a skill the animal kingdom uses regularly. Using mental snapshots of positive outcomes is a technique used by athletes that directly translates to the corporate world. By combining mental imagery with direct communication tools, participants emerge with confidence and deepened empathy at the negotiating table. This combination is unbeatable!
Goals As Vision and Image
When goals are fleshed out and specifics attached to them, they come to life with ease and power. This workshop helps individuals and teams brainstorm about long and short-term goals while imagining various outcomes. The process and final product are grounded in images created by the participants from their combined imaginations. This concretizing of intention retains focus over time.
Understanding Group Dynamics
Through the use of role playing, a brief description of archetypes in groups and families and use of creative process, participants gain a deeper understanding of how they fit into their work communities as well as what roles their colleagues are likely to play. Knowing your typical behavior in a group and understanding how groups navigate, evolve and motivate greatly increases cohesiveness and productivity.
Individual Inspiration
These workshops are offered as a follow-up to the introductory Art @ Lunch series but can also be arranged independently. Focus is on individual issues, challenges and aspirations in a work setting. Creative process is integrated with journal writing and a general overview project about one’s work habits and environment. Personal goals are merged with professional growth plans and awareness of positive habits for success.
Focus Sessions
Creative Consulting Focus Sessions are for small groups working on projects together. Participants develop an understanding of how their skills, personality and strengths affect the group. Creative processes are used to problem solve and develop succinct plans for completing specific projects for the short and long-term.
Quarterly Infusions
Creative Consulting is at its best when accessed on a regular basis. The act of creating in a group allows employees to share aspects of their lives and personalities that are otherwise buried in the hustle of daily work regimes. Individuals are inspired by the art making and often find a rekindled energy and passion for their work. A one-year commitment is required for this program. It entails one Art @ Lunch Workshop followed by four follow-up sessions which can be customized to meet the needs of the company.
Sport Consultations
Available for individuals, parents of athletes, or on-going groups.
Individual Sport Consultations are excellent for all levels of athletes. Mental practice techniques are integrated with deepening one's understanding of how your approach to life is mirrored in your performance. Sport is a metaphor for life and is an excellent lens for increasing effectiveness both on and off the field.
